Keep current rear CETA wheels 17x11" or go 18x11"?

I have a CETA with 17x11" in the rear and 17x9" in the front... I sent the rear rims out and had them widened to fit the 315/35/17R MT ET's i have back there... Was wondering if i should stick with the 17in as MT makes the ET Drag in 275/45/17R or go to 18in and just run the 335/35/18R MT ET II?

Keep in mind this is going to be an F-1R 427LSX very soon so i want to be able to hook eventually lol... I dont want to drop to 15" in the rear so since the 17in have the ET Drags im leaning toward keeping what i have... Any thoughts?

Your 17s should be a mess to hook with, 18s would be even worse. What wheels were you thinking for 18s?
I would seriously consider a drag setup you can switch to.

If your serious about going fast with your 427 you need a set of street rims and a set of track rims. I'd keep the 17s either way.

You could try the Weld RT/S wheels. GMHTP is running them on the STi Killer Camaro SS. Personally, I like them and am thinking about a set of 18s for my car.

So your suggesting 15" welds or something similar with full drag slicks?

Also would the ET Street be no good for that power on 17"?

I would suggest a set of 15" with full drag slicks if your building a 427. But out of the 17's or 18's i would for sure stick with the 17's for better hook. jmo

Well my street rims would be the 17"x11" CETA rims i have... From what im gathering im assuming that a good 15 or 16" rim with full slicks would be the ONLY wasy to go for traction on a 1000RWHP car??

No problem man. Remember that was just an option i threw at you. There are so many cars with nice 15" wheels always coming in the shop. Endless possibilities lol

Thanks! I'm sure there are pleanty of 15" options out there... My concern was (i know this is petty considering im using the 15" rim to support a wider DR and full slick) when i have the 15" on i didn't want them to look too small for the car and look dumb... I KNOW I KNOW i should be worried about hooking but that was the reason i didn't jump right to the 15" to begin with... Also, to save the money of getting 2 15x11~ and the small fronts plus the tires... figured it would be more economical just to slap some ET Streets on the 17's and call it a day... But everyone is right, the 17" even with the DRs (which are 275/45/17) just wont be enough to hold the car to the pavement... And after making all this power i should do the tires and rims right to get the maximum amount of traction possible.

The 17" with a dr will make a huge noticable difference from what you have now or are use to. But yes for a direct hook and go you can't beat a 15" with a full slick lol.

LOL with like 15" of rubber on pavement with some 15" full slicks it will make sure you have the right rear end... Now i have on the Nitto 555r @ 315/35/17... Once i finish these off im getting the MT ET II 315/35/17 and perhaps the MT ET Drags to help with driving around and street play traction
