I need serious help here!
Well...my car needs new tires and I fig that I may as well just get new wheels too if I can. I am looking at getting a set of 18x8's with an offset of 40mm. What is the absolute widest tire size I can put on the front and the back?

Whats the stock width for an SS/WS6? I've got SS wheels and the tire size is 275/40r17. They must be 11" I think that size looks the best on F bodies.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I would go with 9" as well if not 9.5".

Ohh....believe me I do, but I don't want to run into any problems like having to make mods to the fenders or wheel well. I shot the guy an e-mail and he says that a rim thats 18x9 would not fit my offset. So now I am waiting on that answer. What I dont get is if there are people running 17x9/17x11 combos, then why in the hell could I not fit a 18x9 or 18x10 even?

It is all about the offset...the higher the offset. The more the rim will stick out in simple terms....so that is why people can run the TT series. I would do a little research on offsets and pick your posion that way. Don't be scared of the bfh..if u are, you better stick with stock size

Light Pewter Metallic- 2001 Camaro SS
I'm running 18x8.5 (46mm offset) F and 18x10.5 (56mm offset) R and my car is also lowered making clearance even tighter and I don't rub at all. I had to make no modifications to the wheel well or the fender.
This has all the sizes and offsets that should fit http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/wheels...must-read.htmlLast edited by 2001camaroSS; 04-08-2010 at 07:38 AM.

With the right offset you shouldn't have to do the "BFH Mod", even with a 10.5" wide wheel!
