Smile DR's on my stock rims

I want to get some DR's for my stock 17x9 WS6 rims but want to go with a wider tire width, preferably a 295 if they will fit in the rear. I was going to go with either Nitto's or MT's. Does anyone run this combination or know if this size will work? I don't mind stepping down on tire width but wanted to go 1 or 2 sizes larger then stock. Also, just from asking others, most say the Nitto's last longer but the MT's hook better on the street. This is not my DD so i'm not too concerned about wear but want something that is going to hook well on the street and at the track.

    thanks for your help

BTW car should make around 450 whp when I get it back.

I'd stick with a 275 on those rims, a wider tire will be squeezed on the rim and actually give you a narrower contact patch

Nitto's suck at the track...they work well on the street and last longer than the M/Ts though. If this isn't your DD, I would go with the M/Ts.

I also believe Nitto's run a little smaller on their sizes.

Thanks for the help...I'm going with the new Nitto DR (forgot what their called). It's mostly going to be driven on the street and occasionally at the track. Got a good price on the 275 40 17 $350 for the pair mounted and balanced.
