Drag Radial Help!
well i just got a fuckin screw in my nitto555r drag radial. and since its so close to the wall they wont patch it. also due to the "performance nature" of the tire...soo what do i fuckin do?? buy one nitto 555r dr, but will it matter that the other dr has only about 50% thread left...will one side hook and fuck shit up or sumtin...i dunno, do i have to buy two new fuckin dr's?? if buying one sacrifices anything as far as performance than fuck it ill but two new ones...or does it matter?? please helpp me guys ,lol

Since DR's typically have a thin tread you should be fine. The difference in overall height will slightly throw your alignment but thats all. They should hook the same assuming you do your burnouts before each run. Put the new one on the passenger side.

I say find a tire shop that will patch it regardless of where its at, if your fine with that. When i put brand new tires on my car one of them got a cut in the sidewall, and i figured id have to pay 150 for another one. Went back to where i bought them and they fixed it anyways.

No getting just one wont mess with anything but alignment. Such a small height won't mess up your 4ch TCS if equipped if thats what your asking. DRs have soft compound and very little tread so they will hook about the same. I recommended the passenger side only because thats usually the side that breaks loose first and will eventually (somewhat) even out your wear difference.
As for the patching that probably depends on if this is your daily driver or not, how far you go away from home, and if you keep your spare in the hatch.

I say ditch both and go with some mickey's but I'm a die hard mickey thompson fan. You should be safe just getting one tire.

most tracks wont allow patch or plugged tires but its hard to tell. even thoe i got one on my inner side wall at the track ( w/ no spare- weights savings LOL) i got it patched and i still use it, burn outs, dropping press, and DD.
but its your car, if it hits the wall at 100 mph for 150$ tire i would be pissed

both tires have different OD, and abs might play tricks on you... plus the car might pull to 1 side.
