Can I clean clear coated rims w/ 210 degree steam

I recently purchased a portable steam cleaner steams gets up to 210 degrees

Is this to hot and will it melt the clear coat?

Treat clear coated wheels the same as you would any other painted body panel. If you feel comfortable using that temp and pressure on your hood (excluding any decals obviously) it should be fine on your wheels. I would be very careful with any pressure washer on the wheels if your clear coat is peeling anywhere. Any high pressure stream can peel off more of it.

I picked it up for $20. at new egg it works great for cleaning the bathroom.

I will probablley not take a chance on my expensive rims at least on the outside however my rims are kindof open where you can see the funk inside this is where I'll probablley try the steamer it's a PITA tp clean inbetween the spokes.

next time I crawl under the car I plan to steam the rear end, back of trans w/ it constant leaking tail seal anywhere where there's no electrical sensors. hopping it will steam the grim away.
