    99 Firehawk widest tire

What is the widest tire that will fit on stock 99 Firehawk rims? I need to purchase two tires and wondering if I can go wider for the rear. stock size 275/40/17

    285/40/17's will work
I've seen 295 and 315's mounted on stock 9" wheels before but I wouldn't recommend it.

if you put on anything bigger than a 285 your gonna have to cut off the rubber stops behind the rear wheels.their only purpose is to help the car from bottoming out.and on the front 275 is the widest you can go w/out rubbing. but if you do cut the rubber stops you can go all the way up to a 315

look on the inside edge of your rear tires and tell me if it looks like something has been wearing it down, if not someone may have already done it before you. the tires will still fit and go on but they will ride the rubber stops. check it out and let me know.

I have 315/35/17's on the rear without any rubbing at all. But that is on an 17x11" wheel.

I personally wouldn't run anything wider than a 275 on those stock wheels. Anything bigger and you will start to loose contact patch because of how the tire sits on the wheel.

Let me correct myself on this retarted fucking qoute, what i meant was if your rim is wider than 9 1/2" sometimes it will rub on the rubber stop. i know mine did, i had 17" rims that were 10" wide and they rubbed on the inside. so sorry for the confusion.

its cool man happens to the best of us, the only problem i had on mine which are 10.5 wide is there is a little part of the inner fender that pokes out just a little bit, i just take a hammer and give it a few good ones and repaint over,
