98 z28 new wheels/tires

I want to put new wheels/tires on my 98 z28. The wheels are 17x9 with a 45 offset. Can anyone tell me the proper tire size to maintain the original diameter of the stock wheels/tires and is it important to maintain this diameter?? Does a 45 offset sound correct for my car? I believe 245/45/17 tires would be close but am not sure. If anyone has pictures of their car with a similar set up I would really appreciate a look at them. I dont want to wind up with the wrong wheels.Thanks for any help on this in advance.

45mm is ok. 50mm would've been better.
