555r enough?
Will the 555r hold with my mods, or should I go with Et Street Radials? It looks like people aren't getting better than a 1.8 60ft with the nittos.

Go with DR's and you will be happy. Pure hookup on hot pavement.

BFG DR's.
Nitto aren't enough...ET Street DR's are to much.
You are looking for a street tire?? Or just a track only tire?2008 Trailblazer SS

I prefer to run them all the time rather than changing for the track. That's why I was considering the nitto, but I realized that the nitto might not be enough sticky for me. Why are the et streets too much? Just to be clear I am talking about the et street radial, not the et street that is a drag only tire.
I'm not talking about this one:
But this one:
I have heard good things about the BFG DRs, I guess it's between the BFG and the ET street radial now?

You will hook on those M/T's.
Problem...they don't last very long. Wear is horrible.
I cut a couple 1.8xx short times on the Nittos. M6 car.
I can't wait to try out my M/T's.

I effed the paint on teh front of mine earlier, so I hope I don't kill the rear or tranny quite yet, I'm gonna repaint the whole car as my next project. The beauty of the auto is that we can load up the drivetrain on the line instead of slamming it all on the rear at once like an M6 does, so I'm not too worried about it. Hell, ed is still running his rear, autos don't tear em up like the M6s do

I have never ran the BFG.
Been beat by cars running them. They hook. I would think that is a good tire for you.

I will look into them. I don't put an huge amount of miles on the car it isn't my main source of transportation, but I do like to drive it when I can. I may have to look at putting nittos on for DD and getting another set of rims for something stickier, I dunno yet. That would be the smartest thing, but I don't want to do it that way.
Anyone that has iny input on mileage expectations of BFGs and ET streets, chime in.
Thanks for the help guys

Dang, and I thought my decision had jsut been made easier. Were these times with monsterous burnouts or what? This is the first I've heard of such good 60ft times with the Nitto. It looks like the best times are with more sidewall and/or 315s. I really am street minded, not for racing, but I like to cruise when I can and I don't wanna go too sticky and wear em out real fast cruising

I ran 275/40/17's BFG DR"s and loved em. I will be running em again soon on this car. I never got to go the track with those so I couldn't tell you my 60 foot but let me tell you this. I raced a 400 rwhp T/A m6 in my 01 SS a4, stock except the lid and subframes, from a stop light during lunch one day. As soon as that light turned green I nailed it, he nailed it and I beat him, well to 100 anyway. Pure hook up, no spinning at all. They lasted longer than expected as well.
2000 SS #1827,NBM,A4,leather,t-tops,lid,eibach springs, hotchkis lca's,slp lid,slp cold air induction, slp loudmouth, baer brakes up front,13.11@107 on street tires,12.90@109 on dr's....time for the cam and intake to be installed

That is right...Nitto DR's can hook pretty good with an auto.
I always think M6.
