hey thats what i run.17 x 9.5 front 18 x 10.5 rear.tires 285/40r17 front 295/35r18 rear.to run the rears without spacers when you install the tires you have to have a floor jack and lift the whole rear axle under the pumpkin.in this way the tires will fit but youll still have to do a little inner fender modding (a.k.a.BMFGhammer)if you lift the car on a rack the inside of the wheel will hit the bumpstops and the wheel will not turn.the only problems i have is the right wheel still rubs under extreme suspension loading but that rarely happens.

I'm willing to beat the inner fender but would a spacer give a better fit?
SLP lid, smooth bellow, Katech valve covers, coil relocate, pro 5.0 shifter, oz700 clutch and, SLP cat back

i was going to use spacer but the thinnest ones i could find were 5/16 and that only gave me about 5 threads left on the lugs plus it moves the wheel away from the hub meaning that the lugs carry all the load
.i guess you could but i would not recommend it.Last edited by crazy dave ls1; 09-01-2008 at 02:58 AM.

I picked up the wheels last night. This morning I put the lr on and they will rub from 7-9 o'clock and they set in about 3/4"-1". I'm going to look into spacers today to figure my options.
I feel I made a real good buy. 4 c5 polished 5-spoke wheels, rear tires are bfg G-force kdw at about 90% and fronts are nankang ns-1 sport about 75% for $500. Most of the sets I've been finding are a grand and they always came with wasted tires. I can get a set of G-force 275-45r17 or 245-50r17 to match the rear hieght and still be under budget.
Not to mention The guy I bought them from had a 68 z/28 restored, a 69 z/28 pro street and, the 04 corvette the wheels came off.

I was wrong they fit without any rubbing. I'm still looking to get the spacers. I like the look of the tire out just inside the fender lip. stood on the brakes no trouble with the abs. mite be different in the rain we'll see.

I found a plug and a cut in one of the front tires. I replaced the pair and got 255-45r17. they fill the front wells much better than the 245-45r17.
