Question 18x9.5 and 10.5 rim tire options

All right here's the deal, I've decided on Black with machined lip deep dish C-5 18x9.5s for the front and 18x10.5s for the rear. I still have yet to pick out rubber though. I need to know what i can run for widths on both. I'd like to run a 285 on the 9.5 and a 315 or 305 on the rear. I know there will have to be some mods out back but what about up front? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

Fronts will fit with no problems.
    I wouldn't go wider than 275. I had 285s on my 9.5 rim.
    It's to wide.
    But that's your desicion
Back 305/315s are perfect. That's what I plan on getting next.

You could try 285/35/18 in front. It also depends on what brand you are running as the tread design plays a key role. For instance, I had BFG G-Force Sport in the rear in 275/35/18 and they rubbed whenever going over bumps or railroad tracks. My Nittos are the same size and they don't rub.

I've got 275's up front on 9.5" wheel. 295's out back on 10.5" wheels. It basically came down to tire variety. There are too few options for 315's. Better prices for 295's.

I'd look at nitto inov 275-35/18 and 295-35/18 I haven't owned a set yet, but they will likely be my next tire, I have a friend who raves about them.

I had some ZO6 replicas wheels on my 02 SS. I went with the staggered look, but ran into some problems. I would recommend that if you go with the 305+ size tires that you dont get them too tall. That was one of my mistakes. I'd go with 305/40 at the tallest. I got that Nitto 555Extreme Drag radials, with 45 size and they rubbed a lot. With some mods and careful driving they worked just fine.

Here's my thread about it if you are interested.

Have you fit your tires yet?

I have 275s on a 10 inch wheel in the front and had contemplated going wider and was talked out of it. I'm running 18x10 w/ a 275/35 and 18x11 w/ a 315/30 lowered and with no mods.

I had C6 Z06 deep dish wheels in 18x8.5 and 18x10.5 and ran 265/40 and 295/35. The fronts were too skinny and the rears rubbed a bit. It is really all about the offset in terms of rubbing. You will just have to decide how much hammering you will want to do.
