18x10.5 rims and 335/30 tires safe???

ok title has almost all the info but here it is again

i want to get some 335/30/18 hoosier drag radials and would like to run as wide as possible

i can get c6z06 rims for roughly $500 17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear

i want to know if anyone has this rim size and tire size and is it safe

or i can get just 2 c6z06 18x12 for $500 and then it'll cost more money for the fronts

what do you think and any pics would be great

Probably wouldn't fit unless they hung out of the wheel well quite a bit.

Plus, I think the 335 is probably too wide for the 10.5" wheel.

yeah i know thats true but want to run widest possible just for the look pretty much

i want to try it even though ive been told to go with 305 or 315 because its not going to hook any better

not to jack the thread but I have 10.5 in vette rims in back and was wondering if I could get 305s on there. I have 275s right now,but have seen people with 9.5in rims that have 275s on em?

however it is strongly advised not to...that is way to large for those rims and as so causes a safety risk for your car and others on the road.

'Could' and 'should' are two completely different things.

One 315/35/17 tire can fit on the 9.5" wheels. ONE. And that is a Nitto DR.
    EVERYTHING else is unsafe.

yes, I have 295's on my 10.5s and they can afford to go a bit wider

Umm, actually, that tire shouldn't be put on a 9.5" wheel either. I don't care how anything looks, just because it "looks" safe doesn't mean it is.

315s shouldn't be put on anything but 10.5" wheels at a minimum. End of story.

I love how every says that this ricer did this, and this ricer did that, and call them stupid for doing so, but putting a 315 on a 9.5" tire has to be one of the dumbest things I have commonly seen people do.

    triple-black
    2000 CamaroSS convertible

    I'd say stick w/ 315/30-18 on 18x10.5
That's what I have on all corners and I wouldn't go wider on those rims.

    almost stock triple-black 2000 SS convertible with 17x11s on all 4 w/ 315s at the track or on the street with 18x10.5s on all 4 w/ 315s: (1), (2)
