18 by 10.5 rims on the back of a z28?

I was wondering if anyone has put 18 by 10.5 inch rims on the back of a Z28 without using a hammer?

    Red face 18.10.5 rims

depends on what style and offset/backspacing tire size

i would say determin what look what want and how your gonna use the car.
some road race some street cruise some drag.

research your own style and maybe you go with the crowd..and maybe you dont.i believe hot rodding is makin your self happy look at the big custom car makers..foose coddington they do what they think is best for them..
many cars can look very well and tuff without a major investment.
sorry got a little long on the subject.

    Rims

I don't do any racing at the strip, or anywhere else. I pretty much baby my car. I would like to run a wider rim and tire in the back, I think it looks so much better. I just wasn't sure how wide I could go on my Z28. I am getting 18'' Z06 rims, 9.5 in the front and if possible 10.5 in the back. The offset for the rear is 56mm and backspace is 7.88". I would probably put a 275 tire on the back. Do you think this will work for the rear? If not, I will just put the 9.5 on the back also.

If you are going with 275s you should just use the 9.5

I would rather put a 295 in the back? Would I need spacers and a hammer?

for a 10.5 you would want 295s. as far and spacers and a hammer that would come back to offset and tire hieght, and i don't have an answer for you there I have no personal experience with 18s on an f-body. I have a friend with C6 18s and 315s in the rear but I can't get him on the phone

I have 18X9.5's ZO6 wheels on my 2001 Z28 with 275's and it looks good and there is plenty of room in the back. Pretty close up front with the tires turning inward, but still a finger width clearance. My car is not lowered at all. Tires are 275-35ZR18. I THINK 295's with a 10.5 would fit BUT that is only a guess based upon what I see with mine and the available space.
