Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
10 Spoke Project
Finally got the tires dismounted from my stock 10 Spokes and figure it's time i do something with em. In my opinion 10 spokes are the nicest looking stock wheel that came on a Camaro and it would be a shame to leave them in as rough a shape as they are. The original owner must have used something corrosive as the finish is dulled and the lips are all rashed up. I'm gonna try and take a little time out of each day for the next few weeks and get these looking good again. Not 100 percent sure where i'm going with the finish but i'll make my mind up when the time comes. If you got any ideas i'm all ears
Here are some pics to show how bad they are. Took a little time to scrub one clean, you can see how bad the center caps look.
Hopefully they'll be looking good soon.

You're right about them being the best looking factory rims.

I am thinking gunmetal would look good. Darker than factory and lighter than black. Put some JBWeld on that rim with the chip in it, sand it down then either spray or powdercoat gunmetal.

Subscribed. I too like the gunmetal idea.

I like the idea of gunmetal. Want this to be more of a budget project so powdercoat is out of the question, i've spent enough on wheels lol. I might be willing to try to copy 35th LE wheels but in gunmetal instead of black

I think that would look pretty sweet.

I know this is totally against what I typically like but a SOM and black combination would look sweet.
Something like this but maybe put the SOM where the 35ths are black and black on the face. I dunno just an idea.

I was thinking on getting 10 spokes too, I like the way they look,
And make the back rims wider.
What size those rims are?

Not too sure about the som on the wheels, something i'd have to think about.
As for the wheels, they're 17x9.5s all around

This grille is what gave me the idea.

I've seen that same thing done before on another car, it would be interesting to see on a set of wheels.
I still got a lot of prep work to do so i have plenty of time to debate it
