Nice Headlights... Lol!
How do you paint the inside of the headlights like that? Is there a link, or a step by step post somewhere?

take off headlight. pre heat oven to 325.
put headlight in for 10 min on top of piece of wood. so that you dont melt your headlight.. stay next to the oven the whole time to check on it. take out at 10 min.. ITS GUNNA BE HOT! so be wearing glove. using butter knife try to pry lens from headlight assebely. do not do it to hard. cuz you can crack your headight and you dont want that. if its to hard. but it back some more time. once lense is off start taking off old silicone..ur not gunna get it all off.. but the more you take off the better it will seal. start to tape off all the parts your not going to paint.. witch is all the smooth mirror like part.. then sand off all the chrome from the parts being painted. so that paint will stick. paint it.. then let sit so that it can dry..once dry remove tape, and clean lense..(its also good to buff inside while you have it off ) put bead of RTV around the headlight, where lens sets into...put lens on and hold it for bout 30 sec... also put the little metal clips back on. theres four that you took off earlier put headlight back on, and presto...then do the other
this was just a quick lil write up..so i might have forgot some stuff..
stuff needed:
tape
clear coat
gloss black
acetone (nail polish remover)
RTV silicone.
the rest can be found around the houseLast edited by stangkiller2005; 05-25-2007 at 06:24 PM.
