    Window Tinting

Has anyone removed the defroster strips before tinting? Thinking about getting mine tinted and just wondering, if anyone can post pics please do. Also how far did you come down on the front window?

When I got mine done they told me of people sanding the dots at the top of the back window down and if not it will give it a milky color cuz the tint cant stick between all the dots. I didnt get it done and I wish I had now. Maybe down the road Ill pay to get it done. I would send pics but curently in Afghanistan

For the back window, young is spot on. To properly tint it, the dots actually can be painted over. Otherwise, at least in states with bigger temp swings, the tint will eventually separate from the window in that area. I had them painted on my cavalier when I had it and it looked seamless. My TA came with the windows already tinted over the dots, and when I asked about removing the tint, they said it could damage my rear defrosters. As far as removal, there is no need unless you don't want a rear defroster anymore.

I thought you couldnt use the rear defrosters if you had tint on, the tint would break away due to the temperature of the defrosters.

Did you guys do 1 or 2 piece film on the rear window?

Mine was done in 1 piece and works just fine with the defrosters. Defrosters wont hurt the tint at all
