    Vents or no Vents?

Okay, I recently got my WS6 hood but, it had no vents/screens in the front. I've already ordered and received the vents but, have seen some without vents.

Anyone got any ideas about leaving them off and then just trimming the dog ear nut plate areas, glass and then repaint?

I took mine out...think it looks better since there is no screen on the bottom vents.

Yeah, those look good. I'm leaning more and more towards zero vent grills.

k, got the openings all honed and smoothed now. Just need to send it to the body shop this week and get the front corner repaired and the top painted. Will probably fill the rivet holes with bondo today or tomorrow but, for the most part, its ready. Yeah

Bonus pics of my new Nitto 555 315 Extreme Fatties......lol.

So can you still drive that if it rains? Or is this not a DD?

Well, I've thought of that too. This fall I will def be able to pick up a DD. For this summer, I plan to have a separate piece of foam for the underside of the MTI lid in case it rains. That outta do it.

I've had my hood baffles out and my WS6 hood has been sealed to my airbox for a long time with the BGRA kit. I've been caught in a few downpours and never had an issue with water getting through the filter. During some of these rains I've had no grills but I'm currently using grills from HPA (no longer in business). If your hoods not sealed to your airbox, you'll have even fewer potential issues.

So, from what you say here, since I won't be sealing the opening to the air box, I shouldn't have any issues.

I do plan to make a small foam seal for the underside of the intake on the MTI lid just in case of rain until I get a DD and am able to leave the T/A in the garage on those type days.

I've heard lots of people over time issue warnings but I've NEVER had any issues with baffles out, grills out, and my hood sealed to my airbox. I've been through torrential downpours (not on purpose) here in Iowa with no problems. As above, I do have grills in now (no baffles and still sealed) but never had issues either way. If you're ever caught in rain, check your filter as soon as you can and see what shape it's in.

I have a K & N so, I'm sure it would hold up better than the coffee filter type.

Thanks, I'll post some after paint pics etc when I get it done. I'll also update testing in wet weather also on what works or doesn't work.
