Tinted Side Markers

ok guys I need your opinions again LoL! should I tint my side markers or buy the tinted ones from ebay? If you guys say tint them myself where do you buy the tinting spray from & what is the process for tinting them? I dont want them too dark just a little tinted BTW im not tinting my stockers im going to pull a part to grab some off of an old T/A or Camaro

Do them with VHT. You can buy it at Auto Zone, its called VHT Night Shade and you can apply coats to get to the desired shade

Get stock used ones and paint them your self.
That way u decide how dark you want them
Plus stock markers look better than aftemarket.

I have painted many tail lights with spray paint from autozone. It doesn't look bad

i think dark on dark cars, light/ clear on light colors. if you need some clear ones i have them.

if you need them darkened contact pontiacfan he does great work. i have worked with him on many deals.

This^^ I did my markers and third brake light and it came out awesome.

thanks guys I will go to pull a part tomorrow to see if i have any luck with the marker lights,Im also thinking about doing the third brake light also,I think it would blend in good with my full ceta mod & black overlays,but I may have to search for a spare third brake light though

Third brake light looks good sprayed with vht. Is fairly easy to do yourself, just Google research for a few min first. I would feel confident spraying the stockers without buying backups.

thanks,great looking pewter T/A,I want mine done the exact same way,but I just realized something,tinting the lights might have an affect on how bright the bulb shines,did any of you guys upgrade to a brighter bulb or do you all still use the stock bulbs?

If you are going to VHT them yourself, I would definitely get a second set to work with.

thanks,I never used VHT night shade before,I just want to keep my stockers if I decide to make it look stock again,but I think I have an old Lumina or Grand Prix headlight(not dull or hazy)BTW laying around the house somewhere I can practice on them

I might be tinting mine soon. I want to tint them, but keep them legal. I know the ones on eBay are nice, but that won't mean squat if I fail inspection.

How much did you spend? For 4, or 2?

I've been weighing this mod, the cost of VHT, a used set of markers and time effort to complete versus simply paying a few more dollars for the ebay ones.

I also agree with keeping my stockers and trying it on a used set, as I also want a used 3rd brake light to try this on.

How much of an effect it has on your light depends on how much VHT you put on. I did mine pretty dark and the light is considerably reduced but still visible with stock bulbs. Heres a pic to show how dark mine are.

Thx. I had used 3-4 light coats and then polished afterwards. Tho it darkened the housing, it didn't diminish the light enough for me to worry.

Luckily ours are easy enough to remove, you fan see how it look and replace later if u feel uncomfortable

that looks awesome,if my eyes werent good,I could have swore your markers disappered LoL!
