Those of you that dd during the winter..

So, yeah...this is my first (and hopefully only) beaterless winter where I'm forced to dd the bird.

My question to those of you in the same boat as me is....how do you keep the thing clean? Granted, we don't have much of a salt and slag season here (thank God) but still, it only takes a week or so of unwashedness (new word of the day!) to have the t/a looking pitiful. Unfortunately, I don't have the cajones to wash the damn thing when it's 20 degrees outside, and of course I'm never off on the random once a month 60ish degree day that it would be doable.

It isn't even Christmas yet and I'm almost embarrassed to drive her in her present state...

Do you brave the drive-through carwashes? Autobell? Take a vacation to Florida and wash it there? What?

I look for a warm day of above 33 degrees and put on a really thick jacket and start the task of washing it..

    I hate it.

I put on my shorts and flip flops- sometimes bare foot and wash the car every other saturday. I love living in florida.

When I did live in Indiana I would take it thru a brushless wash and take it home and put it in the garage- that way the doors/ lock don't freeze.

Warm water on a sunny day is not too bad. Otherwise I go to a do it yourself car wash.

Don't worry. I don't have the cash for a beater til after Christmas either. I also have to contend with some salt but, I brave it all and take it to the do it yourself car wash and use my own wash mit.

Squeegee it off and then use my shamois when I get home to the garage.

A good chasis bath every now and then as well as a three step Maguiars in the spring should do the trick.

Hopefully, I will be able to afford a beater around January time frame so, hopefully the weather will hold out til then.

take it to the 25 cent car wash and spray most of the bad stuff off---you are never going to keep it real clean in the winter.

im sorry uve gotta DD your bird, i HATE driving this car through the snow. i feel like im abusing her.

anyway i brave the cold. just make sure u get the doorjams as dry as possible or they are gonna freeze on you. oh and i also wait till alteast a day thats 30 degrees or higher. Also u should wash her and give it a good wax before snowfall, i feel like it helps to protect the paint better, or it just makes me feel better

salt on my black car is the worst, and on my chrome wheels..... its horrible.
