Tail Lights

I'm getting a '98 firebird ready for my daughter who starts driving next week. One of the minor issues is the RH Tail light appears to have some kind of tint inside the assembly. The car came from Florida originally and had really dark window tint which I've removed. The assembly looks like it may have been taken apart before, there is silicon around the top and sides of the seam. I was afraid I would break it if I tried to take it apart.

Do these assemblies come apart? I've seen blackouts that go on the outside of the lense but has anyone heard of tinting on the inside of the assembly? I guess I can buy another RH assembly but am a little worried about how well it will match the 8 year old one on the LH side.

It is not tint on the tailllights. it has actually turned dark from moisture getting into it. It is a fairly common problem. Only fix is to get a new light.
