    this might be a stupeid ? but are all ss camaro hoods fiberglass i know after market are but are oem too

    On slp's site it says "Manufactured from an OEM-quality sheet molded compound (SMC)". Does that mean that SMC is different from fiberglass or is it just a process to form the firberglass?

    It is the highest quality you can get! It is sort of a fiberglas but way stronger and less flimsy. I will see if I can get a pic up of my broken hood, cause it surely doesn't shatter like aftermarket ones do!

    From what I understand, SMC in laymans terms is kinda like a fiberglass/plastic
    hybrid that is made using special molds under pressure (so there's no air pockets). what do u guys think? BTW what happened your hood 9t8z28?

    Yeah, I think your description is correct.
    As for the hood, I got hit head on with a combined speed of 90 m.p.h.
