Some pics from underneath my car

I figured out a way to get that black tar crap off so I have been removing it. Here is my progress so far. I still have plans to pretty the underneath some more and I know I have to do something with the exhaust, its a major eye sore. I will be doing a 12 bolt sometime in 2007 as well.

Razor blades+Simple green+rags. Spray the Simple green on and shave off the black crap with the razor blades. Its not a real pleasant task, but sure cleans it up.

It would help a lot if you had one of those razor blade holders instead of holding the blade with your hands like I did

have you tried really fine sandpaper like 300-400type. wet it then sand it up then wash it off.
never tried it this way but I think it should work. use a lot of water while sanding so you won't scratch the hell out of the pipes.

    ***Update***

It was a nice day today and I had work to do on the car anyways so I started working on the exhaust. The acetone never had a chance, maybe its because mine was in such bad shape.

Now to the good news, I wetsanded using 400 grit and the results are fantastic so far. I am not totally done yet, but I will start a new thread with pics as soon as I finish it up. Anyone looking to do this, I definately recommend the wetsanding technique versus the acetone.

    Looks good!

Like you said you need S/S exhaust.

And maybe paint your 10 bolt, then the underside of your car will be mint.

Very true! I think the exhaust will be up to par when I finish wetsanding it. Its looking great so far. I don't think I am gonna waste time on the 10 bolt though, I plan to get a 12 bolt or 9" next year, so I will just paint/powdercoat it at that time.

    Thanks for the comments.

Got anymore pics of the underneath of yours?
