Rear Window Tint
Hey guys,
I just spent the last month prepping and painting my 94 camaro and it came out great. I feel like id be cheating myself if i didnt replace the tint which has turned purple and has begun to peel. I only plan on tinting my rear hatch window and the top 6 inches of my windshield. Anyone have any tint products they would recommend, from what I understand 3M seems to be a favorite. Im considering 30% tint because i believe the darkest i can legally go is 30% in NY. Also these products need to be at a local auto store because i need to have it down by next week when i go off to school.
Thanks, any input would be greatly appericiated since this is my first time dealing with tinting.Last edited by CoT Tommy; 08-21-2012 at 03:43 PM.

hey whats up man. honestly, i would try your luck and go with 5% in the hatch, 25% on the sides and 5% for the top 6 inch of windshield....i know you are in new york but you might be able to get away with it for awhile....and if a cop pulls you over...tell him you just bought the car and everything was already done like that and you had already planned on removing the tint

plus the sides are perfect for day time driving....i will admit though having the back hatch at 5% def sucks at night

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
I'm with these guys on paying someone.
Not sure off the top of my head if the 94 came with the dots on the rear, but if it did, they can be a real pain. Alot of people end up painting over them for the smoothest, longest lasting finish.
2nd, if that tint has been on for well over a decade, there's a good chance your rear window defroster lines might come with it if you just start tearing into it. Let the pro's use there methods, that way there's less likely of an issue occurring.
And, if it comes out bad for any reason, any respectable place, will fix it for free.
