Questions on changing halo led?

i have the halos in my headlights im going to change them to red what kind of led would i need and all the stuff id have to do becuase i found some halo rings on ebay but i dont want the orange looking faded red color or pink i want a blood red and i want it noticable most you cant see during day unless you pull in garage i want to be able to see em in the day so to sum it all up What i need to know is
- what kind of LEDs
- What Kind Of Wire
-Resistors?
-anything else

I don't know if you even need resistors. I think you have to solder the replacement LEDs to the wiring. But be warned, if the cops see red in any of your front lights, you'll be paying for it as they are illegal.
