    Putting Window Tints Tomorrow...

    Should I go 15% or 5%...

I want to keep heat out and make the bird look badass too.

    Anybody got to %'s ??

5% makes it hard as hell to look out at night right?

but will 15% look badass on my CETA??

anybody got pics of tinted CETAs???

I have 5%, takes a bit of getting used to. It's a pain to drive at night for a while. But it makes the car look SO much better. It's incredible.

that looks sick. it would look really good on my CETA.

so it it hard to get used to it? or is it after a few weeks its normal.

I had 20% on my old mustang. the back starting developing bubbles... i never retinted and it was hard as hell to see out.

do you see lights from the back well enough. can you atleast tell someone is behind you?

I don't have it out back, but a buddy of mine does....says he love it since trucks won't blind you anymore. He doesn't have a problem at all. You will find yourself leaning forward to see curbs on left turns, that's normal. It will take a week or so, but after that? You'll love it. And nobody can see in, that's what I love about it.

    well i got the 15%....

there are little air bubbles all around... is that normal? they told me it was. it would go away in a few weeks.

the top of the hatch has water on the top and he said that was normal too.

it was a reputable place... i've done alarms and sound stuff there many times. first time window tint.

it called Senor Stereo... if you're in Miami I'm sure you know them...

I'll post pics as soon as I have a cam with me...

Actually, you can pop the air bubbles with a NEEDLE and then in a few days it will look perfect. For some reason though, it doesn't work right if you use a razor blade. Doesn't really make much sense.

I'm thinking of getting mine tinted too, I was thinking of 15% in rear and 25% on the sides. (Can't go much darker than that on the sides since I think 25% might be illegal still).

My question is, with the factory "smoke" on the windows, is that a film tint or is the glass smoked? I'm wondering if the place I'm going to take my car will have to remove that first or if they can just put the tint right on the window.

first off if youre gonna get it tinted & it will be slightly illegal, why not get it darker in the first place?also remember a t-top car will help let in alittle light..if u have an untinted window(like factory tint)..no film removal is necessary

What ever you do, do not poke holes in your tint, with a straight pin or razor blade, if it has sags or water blisters it will dry out, if you poke holes in it, you will void your warranty.
As for the water at the top of the glass, if the tint is not flush mounted, and done right it won't get any better over time.
this is what 15% looks like , and what a correctly tinted hatch with the matrix
    flush mounted.

Vinyl is for tinters who can't do it correctly. Besides Vinyl impairs your vision when looking through the rearview.

    To each their own.

I have no vision issues, and it looks better. Won't ever create an issue down the road.

I don't mean to start a pissing match ,but if you don't know better ,you might think vinyl is better, but the truth is vinyl is not designed to be used on glass especially on the inside of dot matrix, and most vinyl is only 5 year guarantee at best, and the film I install is Lumar ,a titanium and polyester hybrid and has a span of 20 years , so the proof is in the pudding so to say. I have been selling and installing film since 1985.

vinyl is only going to last so long before it looks like ass. its not made to stand up to the heat and direct sun that a window sees over the life of the tint.

    2001 M6 SS - few mods...
