polished valve covers are complete
After about 20 hours of hand work both valve covers are polished. I had about 13 hours into the first one and about 7 hours into the second one. Well worth the time IMO. This was my first time polishing something this size and that started off so rough, so there was a learning curve with the first one. Not the best finish but the coils will cover up most of it.

Those look great. Did you relocate the coils? What did you use to polish them like that?

Nevermind about the coils, I reread your first post.

I worked up from 320 grit to 2000 grit. All wet sanding. The final polish was white rouge compound and a buffing wheel on a drill.

That looks great. Did you put some kind of clear on them to keep the polish shiny a year from now? Or is that not necessary?

Wow, those look great! You went above and beyond on those puppies. I think I spent around an hour and a half each on mine.

There is a coat of wax on them and that is it. I figure i will have time each winter to re polish them.
