Pics of our Targa top, you can order in one week!!

    UPDATE: ORDERING INFO HERE... http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...96#post2218396

So, we changed the design because in our guts we knew we weren't happy with the original. Although we tried to convince ourselves, "Well, it matches the way the Camaro hood has bumps over the headlights... etc."

    Old roof design...

My Carbon Fiber guy got his hands on it and was like, "Whoa, this doesn't look like the photoshop Neil first envisioned..." and he was right and thankfully he had the skill to make it more like what we originally wanted and, IMHO, even better...

He designed it so that it would resemble the New Camaro...

...but flow with our cars (down to the U channel for the rain channel)...

Then he was NOT able to come through and make it for us. Thankfully, we have a VERY SKILLED friend named McNord

He took a roof I sent him, made an awesome design, turned it into a plug, turned the plug into a mold and just sent me pics of our first PRODUCTION top !!!

I have one word for everyone... PICS!!!

Hardware isn't attached yet but you get the idea. I just got these from McNord minutes ago and couldn't wait to post.

    F@CK IT LOOKS GOOD

On its way to me soon so I can finish developing the kit and take good pics. We're still shooting for an $800 CF top and a $600 FG top and we're pretty sure that will INCLUDE hardware (ready to latch right on) with NO core charge.

You can follow the final stages of the production process and see more pics here...

Any possibility of a smooth version? I just don't think the double hump works with the 4th gens.

that is pretty badass looking. so does it fit right over the t-top (w/o glass of course)?

really freaking cool. you could do a hardtop look but have t-tops still if that's how it works!

    You have two options:

    1) Simply remove t-tops and unscrew center t-top bracket, screw in our brackets (it covers where the old bracket was and secures top in the front) and latch top on...

    2) Do a FULL targa conversion (cutting center bar out) with a kit we will sell...

really cool. i would consider it if i was done with my car. it'd be sweet to have factory t-tops in the summer, but cover them up with a painted fiberglass hard top in the winter. you guys are very creative.

Thanks guys! These are all the pics we have for a week or so. McNord had to go door to door to find a t-top car that would let him take these pics (his is a hardtop)...

Wont that weaken the structure of the car? Wouldnt you need to reinforce the body some how?

Huge write-up on that on my site. Basically, we aren't the first to do this and it is safe...

    A) Windshield is fine as the a-pillars are same as convertibles...

    B) Body is fine ESPECIALLY if you add weld in SFC's (which we highly recommend)...

    Very impressive.
Typically the money I save up for new gets burned on shit that breaks, but def moving this to the top of my list. Hopefully by springtime

only concern would be storage in car, which i guess could put some tie downs on the trunk deck mat and fold rear seats down.

No worries about storage, we're developing something for that as well

I'd like to see details on that. I think that is my biggest concern is where to put it. Cool Idea, can you talk more about how it fits and if there are concerns of leaks with both installs? I know you just got them so when ever you get a chance.
