    painting intake

sorry if this was already posted. I'm getting a new lingenfelter intake and was wanting to paint it. so my question is what paint do I need to get the intake to look like this http://www.highperformancepontiac.co.../photo_08.html. I want the same color or just a metallic silver. Do I use dupli color spray can? And can I use clear coat or will it just come off from the heat? Thanks in advance.

you can use the dupicolor high temp paint and it will look good and glossy as long as you prep. the part good before painting. Is the lntake plastic like the fast intakes?

Any high temp paint should work. You could also have Emblem Pros(site sponsor) hydrocoat your intake he's got a bunch of patterns that look badass

If you can afford to pay and have it done, I've seen powder coated TB's and intakes and they look good. painting it yourself if your on a budget.

The intake isn't plastic its metal. I'm not looking to spend alot on it so I guess I will go with dupli-color. so can I spray clear coat on the intake or will it not work?

I don't believe they make a hightemp clear coat so im gonna say no. It should be plenty glossy with just the black anyway.

just FYI, The reason the composite intakes run $120 is because of all the prep involved. If its aluminum it would cost alot less.

Yes, LS6 intake, and painted it black because my fuel rail covers are pewter metallic.
