Painting headlights
Anyone ever taken the stock headlights off and painted the surfaces that aren't lights? If so, what paint did you use and what are some tips? If not, and you bought others, where did you get em from?
Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)
Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,
Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

You mean the whistler mod?? Paint the reflector inside the headlight?

Yes. What paint do you use for that?

I thought there was a sticky on the whistler mod in the appearance section. But, I couldn't find one for you. I'd probably use Duplicolor. But, I'm guessing any paint that adheres well to plastic will do though.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
When you spray them, post pics. Whistlers look hot on Camaros.

You can find info on google. Just type whistler mod.
I used flat black rust oleum. Doesn't look that good. I had no choice
You can use duplicolor gloss black.
Steps to paint and remove are easy.
Take the headlights off
Remove 4 metal clips on each headlight
Put them in the oven 20-25 min at 200 degrees
The cover should come really easy.
If it doesn't put in back in the oven for few more mins
Cover the back reflector with blue tape. (idk the brand)
Then with stell wool polish the area you want to paint till the chrome is gone
Apply 2/3 coats of paint.
Let it dry.
Put some black headgasket silicone
Remove the old glue first
Put the cover and clips back. Your ready to go.
You gonna take bout 2 hours for all this
Good luck. I can post pics if u like.

Thanks. Did you paint the entire front part of the light including the inside where the bulb goes? Is that considered the whistler mod.

I just dont know if that much black would loon good on a pewter car. Not to take anytging away from yours. It looks really mean on your ride.
