    Painted my intake...

Got the intake done. Simple duplicolor rattle can. I've painted aircraft before, but nothin much like this (glossy). Very pleased with the result! I just went with a gloss black, b/c I'm planning on doing fuel rail covers color-matched red. Second pic, you can see has a little dust on it. That's collected after curing- waiting to let it cure a bit before I install.

    Here's the pics:

I agree on the result, very nice looking. Doesn't even look like spray paint, only question is. What kind did you use?? I'm not sure on how hot regular(if you used that) spray paint can get, or did you use high temp paint? Either way it is a very nice man.

    Thanks!
    Prep'd as follows:
    Sanded up to 320 grit.
    Adhesion promoter- 2 coats.
Duplicolor engine (500 degree) primer- 3 or 4 coats.
    Cured a day.
    Sanded to 400 grit.

    Week later:
Duplicolor engine (500 degree) Gloss Black- 5 coats.
    Cured a day.
    Sanded to 2000 grit.
Duplicolor engine (500 degree) Clear- 5 coats.

Total- Took about 2 weeks to complete in my spare time.
Am very pleased and can't wait to get it in.

The pictures don't really do it justice.

When you sanded did you use a block or by hand due to its shape??

I'm doing the swap tomorrow. I decided to wait until I had an oil pressure sender in reserve just in case. Had to order it as there were none available in town, so... We shall see. Any input / tips about removing the air/egr systems? All info appreciated.
