New rims wont fit!! Need help

I tried to put some C6 18x10.5's in the rear of my Camaro and I got them on and lowered the jack and saw that the car ddnt drop down as far as it should have. At first I thought it was the springs but we realised that it was to wide and the frame was sitting on the tire and thats why it wouldnt go all the way down.I have heard of people using 10.5" wide rims on Camaros so I figured they would fit. So my question is to the people who have 10.5" in the rear, did you have to do anything to get them to fit correctly? If so what do I need to do to get them to fit?

Any and all help is appreciated
    Thanks

You need to get an adjustable rear panhard bar so that you can center the axle underneath the car. You might also have to roll the fender lip depending on the tire.

This post should also help you out some. http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120716

The backspacing may be different on these rims... to fit 11 inch wide rims you need to pound in the wheel well also.

I have Motorsport Z06 wheels on my car.
17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. I've got Nitto 275/40 17's up front and Nitto 285/35's in back.

The car is lowered with Eibach Pro-kit springs. I do have an adjustable panhard bar, but I did have to roll the rear fenders in bit, there was some rubbing during hard cornering. but now, no problems what-so ever.
