    My underhood dressup journey

Follow me thoughout the winter for my journey to clean up and dress up the underhood area of my T/A. The previous owner obviously had a taste for blood hence all the red. I am going to be getting rid of all that and going for chrome/polished/silver "theme".

I have sent a lot of parts out to get powder coated "Xtreme Chrome" The strut tower brace, valve covers, coolant pipe, turn one power steering pulley, belt tensioner, and some other misc stuff.

I am painting a lot of the plastic parts gloss black and also repainting the inner fenders and hiding wires.

I will be updating with pictures throughout the next couple months so keep checking in and tell me your opinions and ideas!!

What it looked like 2 years ago when I bought it

Lid base, washer reservior, and bumper support in gloss black

    Throttle body polished

What it looks like as of right now under the hood.

Keep posted for more in the days to come....

jsteel: yeah its pretty dirty, it was a daily driver for a year before I got it and made it a garage queen, so now is the process of getting everything clean.

Temple: Thanks, the throttle body is an MTI Racing thats already polished but it was very dirty before I took it off. I used the Mothers Billet that you see in the picture and the microfibre you also see in the pic. Just work it in with med-high pressure until black residue appears then wipe off, and repeat if needed.

I am only off on Sundays, so that when I get most of the work done.

You should start painting those for cash. Nice job. I'd be interested in having you do mine for a good price.

You're welcome. I would be interested in doing that. Maybe you can help me pick out a good color. My bay is black with polished stainless and I'm going to be getting white FRCs and white air lid with my colors in red/black on them.

What color would look good for that? Just glossy black?

Yeah I would say gloss black would look the best.

Are you going for polished/black/red/white theme?? If it was me I would go a little simpler, more things in black, with red accents, and a good amount of polished, but no white I just cant see how it would fit.

Here is a little photoshop that Jaison from TSS did for me to see what it would look like. What do you think?

I would personally go with the gloss black Intake Manifold with this type schema. The overall body color of the car is black but, this gives you a close look at what it would look like against a darker background. Let me have it.....lol.

Yeah, I think it would look real good on a black engine bay. Thanks.

Yeah, I think it will look cool. Delicate balance between looking good and looking gaudy. I think those would really get it. Sorry for hi jacking your thread bro.
