    my taillights melted.....wat?

Ok either I'm about to make myself sound really really stupid or......................
    I don't know

Ok so, yesterday I go out to wash my car like I do every other week when I discover two half dollar size dents in each of my tailights. Mind you the passenger side one was a little bigger, but they were roughly the same size and in the same area. I sat there and tried to think of reasons of how the hell this could happen. My first thought was someone probably hit me while my car was parked, but I ruled that out because how the heck is someone going to hit JUST my tail lights and not any part of the bumper. Also if someone had hit them they probably would have shattered and would not be dented in, no?

So considering the fact that my taillights are blacked out using black paint and not any sort of film and that for the past two weeks 100+ temperatures have been normal I concluded that they must have been melted in

So my question: Is this F-ing possible??? I've never heard of anything like this happening before. Are there any other explanations?

Nope not stupid.. Very common with Camaro.. I had the same issue a few years ago with my 01 too.. When I replaced the tail lamp housings with new ones, I tried turning the high/bright side of the bulb around so it faced down and have'nt had a repeat of the issue yet...

shit I know right! We'll just add that on the checklist of things GM failed to make properly on our cars.
