Mothers PowerBall Headlight Kit?
Has anyone used/had good results with this headlight restoration kit? I've tried Meguiars PlastX by hand before with poor results.

Did you sand down the headlights first?

I have the mothers and it works, but I would rather have bought the 3m headlight restore kit. The mothers one spreads lint when you rotate it. The best results always will include sanding it.

Any compound on a buffer will clear up lightly faded lights. If there real bad then Use some 600 wet, tape off the surrounding are and get a rattle can of duplicolor clear. All depends on the severity of the light. I use standay 3m rubbing comount and some 1000 grit and sometimes finish with 1500 wet depending on the lights.

I have used the Mothers PowerBall 4Lights on several cars with great results. You do need to run the drill at high speed, but depending on how bad they are, you could be good to go in as little as 5 minutes once you tape off the lens.
In most cases the foam polishing ball generally had done the job with the included polish. Only on an old '94 Toyota did I have to use the sanding pads, so I recommend what the instructions say which is to polish first and see if you get the results you need. If you do sand, go real easy with the coarser grits or you'll create unnecessary work for yourself.
They recommend you polish every 4 months or as needed, and it goes pretty quick. Plus there enough polish to probably last a couple of years.
Washing with dish soap is easy and it's reusable.
I didn't have a problem with lint since the Mothers kit is foam -- blackbird may be thinking of another kit.
Here's the Mothers...
