Looking for 1999 Z28 rear lower panel RS, sport 'skirt'.

Hi - I'm new here and we have a problem. The rear 'skirt' was stolen off our 1999 Z28 this week. The car is in pristine condition and we want it to stay that way. The dealer says he can get an unpainted skirt for us and paint it for about $1100. Sigh. I have no confidence that an aftermarket paint job will last, so we are trying to find a replacement, OEM painted in Sebring Silver Metallic. I've looked at e-bay with no luck.
We've always called these panels 'skirts', but I'm beginning to think the right term is 'ground effects.' Can someone let me know if I'm right or not?
Why would someone steal my car part? I'm confused.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on ebay and hope that something comes up. You'll more than likely have to have it painted though.

I was quoted over $600 for the one side of the front ground effects for my car by a dealer and was able to pick it up on ebay for about $150.

We are going to keep watching e-bay, at least for awhile just to see if our part doesn't show up for sale. But if we do need to paint something anyway we'll probably bite the bullet and get the thing from the dealer. The poor baby looks like she's running around town in her frilly underwear.
