Legality of LED Plate Lights

I really wanna put in some nice red LEDs for my License plate lights. I figure since you won't see em till dark when your tail/brake lights are on it shouldn't clash at all. But can a cop bust my chops about them?

as long as they are red and on the rear of the car they're perfectly legal. you cannot put red or blue lights on the front and you cannot put blue or white lights on the rear. but any red on the back is fine

In Indiana you can not have any color other than factory clear while driving, any color while the car is stopped but not driving, they say it distracts other drivers while on the road. My brother got a ticket for having red ones couple years ago. lol. I think it was only $40 bucks but still. Kinda silly if you ask me. I dont think they are typically bright enough to be distracting, not enough to warrant a ticket anyway.

I just put in a 5X white WLED to replace the stock bulb. The LED gives off a bluish white light. Looks good and more modern than the stock bulb.
