How hard to fix this!!

I don't know how it happened but i want to know is it possible to fix with out having the car repainted and paying an arm, 2 legs, and a left nut. LOL

Well, you could TRY to cover that spot with touch up paint and save for a respray of the entire hood later. I assume those pics of paint flaking off your hood?

get a bra until you can get it repainted OR upgrade to an SS hood while your at it!

id say $500 to respray the whole hood.....just a guess

I'd just try to touch up paint it. Then your foggy headlights would mask any discoloration in the hood

Your hood has the MACCO disease. Once it starts flaking it doesn't stop. When stuff like this comes into my shop I usually start by sanding the area to see if they just had grease under that spot of just completely bad prep work. Then I sand as needed usually the whole hood with 220grit on a DA sander. Then a few oats of 2k primer filler, block it flat with 600 wet. Then a couple coats of primer sealer(correct shade for your color). Get some paint mixed to match. Then clear it all. Usually you have to blend the fenders as well since they won't be as bright as the new paint if your headlights are that bad.

Wet sand the with anything from 400 grit to 1000 depending on how bad they are. In the case of the ones that are bad like these I fine 400 to 600 to be the best. Sand them till you can see through the haze and they start looking clear when wet. After that get a can of duplicolor spray can clear. Tape off around the lenses and paper the car up to keep overspray off your bumper, fenders, and underhood parts. They won't look quite as good as new if there bad like these, but if you catch it early you can get them back to new. Even as bad as his are you'll be amazed at the difference also your headlights will be brighter. Next car that comes in my shop I'll take some pics. I have done headlights on alot of Mustangs, Camaros, and a few Hondas and Acura's. Usually I add some black paint to th clear since I use a spray gun and smoke them very light. makes the look like aftermarket lights and still see great at night. Most cars I do have HID kits anyway or I talk them into installing some.

ah come on now cheap shot. I know there bad. I have new ones on the way should be here next week. LOL That's why I'm wanting go get her looking good again for the summer. But I'm talking about the paint. It just like flaked up in that one spot, I don't know if something hit it or what.. I think the hood was repainted before i bought it 4 years ago, it just seems like a diff shade of blue from the rest of the car.

Well, Ryan's a pro painter so I'd take his word over any of ours. It seems like you think it may be repainted and Ryan noticed it as possibly bad prep work on a repaint. I'd take his advice, and besides I was just goofin ya. At least you still own a LS1.

I charge between $400 to $500 to fix hoods like that. Honestly I prefer starting with a fresh hood. That should be what a shop will charge some maybe more but try smaller shop they'll usually cut you a deal especially if you got any other friends who use a certain shop they'll cut you a deal. Most of my buisness is word of mouth.

I would have it repainted and grab a headlight polishing kit while your at it. :-)

Actually if you get it repainted just have them sand and clear the headlights at the same time. I did a Supra bumper and sanded and cleared the headlighs while I was clearing the bumper and they looked like new.
