Hid light pattern
If had my hid's for about a year now and I have always wondered if my light pattern on the floor is right. The metal frame thing that locks in the light bulbs is bent and worn out so I was thinking that maybe my light pattern could be better. They are 8k with reg bulbs in fog's.This is what mine looks like, what do yours look like?

Blue- 2000 TA
Look at the difference in light output. The 4300 or 5000 will put out significantly more light than 8000.

I just put in a set of 6k in my dads 04 ram and there really bright. 8k are more for the look of the headlight.

6k is the brightest and you can barely notice a difference in brightness between 6k and 8k if at all. All you can really notice is the color

I have a set of 10k's on mine and it lights up everything, even the overhead freeway signs. I aligned the headlights to have theright angle to the ground. I'll get pics as soon as the rain here stops.

I noticed a big difference from 6k to 8k in both color and brightness. any of you guys put an hid kit on a projector headlight. I've been wondering how much of a difference there is.

If you put 10k on both a regular headlight and projector the projector headlight will seem less blue because the light is not pointed as high and more focused. If you bend down to the level of the projector beam if is much brighter because of the focus. I have 10k on my TA and my friends have a set on their 08 WRX and Passat, mine is noticeably bluer but since their projectors focus the light it is brighter at night

Blue- 2000 TA
5K 3200 lumens
6K 2800 lumens
8K 2550 Lumens
10K 2200 Lumens
Also remember that the blue light is harder to see than either the white or yellowish light and will cause eye strain over extended driving periods.Last edited by DUBL0WS6; 02-16-2009 at 02:04 PM.
