Gauge cluster bezel trim paint?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has tried painting the plastic trim that surrounds your gauges in your insturment cluster (speedo, rpm, ect). I think it would be a neat mod if it can be done. I know you can buy pieces to go over it, but has anyone tried to paint it?

no no, i meant against the gauge cluster where ur speedo is. It's on trans ams, and it's a plastic piece. its on top of where the needles sit

its all good. have you heard of that being done? it's been years since i took a gauge cluster out and idk if that piece comes out or not

Yup it can be seperated from the cluster..

I have a painted bezel, its not the TA one though, I don't think you can easily seperate the bezel from the lense. Mine is from 6LE's lineup of goodies.

The bezel seperates from the cluster, but not the lens, they are glued together. When you take your cluster out the lense & the bezel are one peice and seperate from the actual cluster with clips. You can get a camaro lens and it doesn't have a bezel at all if you wanted an aftermarket bezel.

yea i wanted to see if they came apart so i could just paint it. nothing comes in a gold metallic

Nope, doesn't come apart. I'll snap some pics of mine tommorrow. My clusters all apart right now as I'm finalizing my new gauge needles. (Look for us to have them on the 6LE site real soon)

You can just order that bezel from 6litereaterdesigns.com....you can also order your gauge overlays there too.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but dont old LT1 T/A bezels come apart? I think they might screw together. And i mean old ones.

+1 I'm really diggin that green for some reason. Only problem I'd have is that I like my red lights so it would look like a christmas tree at night..

6LE, Do ya'll have any overlays that you can do in Tan maybe? Just thinkin that body colored might look good in there since I'm trying to add some body colored accents.

Was originally thinking of red, but everybody does their black interiors in red.
