    Front bumper cracked

Ok so I have a 99 bird. The front bumper is cracked and has gotten worse. Im planning this weekend to sand it down bondo it. Do you think I should remove the front bumper or leave it on for less stress on me?

I wouldn't use bondo for the repair -- they make a specialty filler for plastic panels on cars that you should be able to get at any auto-body supply store and maybe some parts stores. Prep is the key to a good repair and on some cracks you need to grind the area down before filling. Also, a plastic weld across the crack may be a good idea for a stronger fix. Not a bad idea to go on YouTube and watch a few vids on the process -- you can find most anything on there. Good luck!

Ive looked on ebay, there $200 +. Got a price to repair bumper and price was $600. I bout paint, gloss, and fiber glass bondo online for $48.

This is more of a learning experience for me.

Your $85 bumper was a steal. I wish I could find a deal like that.

they had several listed for $85 with free shipping, got quoted today at $200 to prep and paint

so $285 total for a brand new painted bumper.

since mine is black, im thinking about rhino-lining the bottom....prevent some of those scrapes

Oh wow thts a pretty good idea.

I just looked on ebay and the cheapest front bumper I saw was $250. Yeah I am in school, I dont have $$ for that, thats why im repairing it my self. I was just wondering if I should pull the bumper off.

And are the screews that connect to the bumper/ fender are they difficult to get too?
