    Emblem question

I was wanting to take the Z28 emblems off my 2000 Z but am not sure how they are attached? Is it just an adhesive, or do they have mounting holes. Thanks in advance.

Ok maybe that was a dumb question. I went and looked and it is definatley adhesive. New question, what's the best way to get the leftover sticky stuff off the fenders and bumper? Goo Gone? Just be careful and use a razor? Thanks again.

if it is just adhesive, WD-40 has worked for me in most applications with sticky stuff...im sure this is some strong stuff so WD-40 might not cut it and it may or may not be rough on the paint (have never directly applied it to paint so idk the outcome)

Take as much off as you can with your finger and goo gone will do the rest.

If you heat up a putty knife (but not too hot), you can remove the emblems very easy. Also for the adhesive that is left, use your fingers to rub most of it off, (this works very well, I did it for 5 years at a body shop.) You may have to get some 3m adhesive remover to deal with anything that may be left. Then you will want to rewax that area since the remover will also remove the wax. If the paint is knicked it may need a little buffing, but no big deal.

All the options given are good. BUT the best way to remove it would be to use Lighter Fluid, like the kind for Zippo lighters, tis will avoid any scratches of the paint. I did this to my TA when I had one. I work at a sign company, and when we need to remove any kind of adhesive we use lighter fluid. What I did was soak it from the top and slowly start pulling the letters back.

I have heard of some using a hair dryer. You can PM ED, I believe he removed his SS badges.

The hair dryer will work wonders... Then use your finger to roll off as much adhesive as possible... Then I used 3M adhesive remover to get off anything that was left.
Just an old fart in a Z/28

Hair dryer, fingers, and goo gone always did the job for me.
