    Dent in rear quarter...

I hope this is the right section...

Without getting into how it happened, the rear pass-side quarter panel on my '98 T/A got rubbed against a metal pillar (at a very low speed). Now, the bulge over the rear wheel has been pushed in...

My question is what kind of repair options I'm looking at and any ballpark prices that would be associated... I'll post up pics tomorrow if I get a chance.

Thanks, guys. Not a good night...

how bad is it? seeing as it was against a metal pole im assuming you have to get it painted but to get the dent out and paint your looking at $400-$800 depending on how bad it is

OP has a couple of options. You can try to locate a paintless dent removal service, but it is costly. You could try to knock out the dent yourself with a small hammer but you have to go at that LIGHTLY. Try looking at auto supply stores for dent removal tools(IIRC AutoZone has a body repair section). I have seen on other forums threads of folks using a plunger to remove shallow dents(if OP has one). Last...body shop.

    Keep us posted.

It's the paint rubbed OFF, unfortunately... My main concern is repair of the dent.

Looks more like a new rear quarter panel and paint if a slide hammer can't do the job. Yikes!!

DAMMIT!!! At the moment I cannot remember the tool the shops use that uses a welded stud and slidehammer to pull that dent out. That tool WILL pull that dent out. Get some estimates from local body shops and find out who does the BEST work for a good price. If you wanna do it yourself, get a hammer and dolly from an auto parts store. When you hammer out that dent TAKE YOUR TIME as not to warp/push out the sheetmetal.

Yeah, you definately need conventional body repair,PDR wont help.Looks like it goes into the edge of the wheel opening, which is a double-panel area.A hammer and dolly wont help you either because you cant access the backside of the panel completely.A stud welder and puller is your only option here, but you need paintwork,so its a non-issue.Where you're gonna really pay is the blending into adjacent panels, which is neccesary to look factory again!!

Thanks for the info, guys. Any ballparks on what I should expect to pay to have the dent pulled? I know a guy that does real good body work, so I'm not TOO worried. But it's mortifying to drive her like this until I can afford it...

I hear ya. Talk to your friend and save up the cash for the repairs. That dent could have been larger and you wouldn't be able to drive it.
