    Damn watermarks won't come off!!!

I tried everything. Car wash, vinegar, polish, wax, buffer, nothing worked. I'm gonna have it professionally detailed, especially since i have a screwed up touch up on the rear panel cuz of the wet-sand. Here are pics. Any advice?

Welcome to my world of what we so much love to call "HARD WATER"

we have the same problem at our house because its a new subdivision and there is no water softener installed in my house. only way we dont get the spots is to dry REALLY fast after the wash and if u let sit waxing it off is a bitch.

Mr Clean auto dry has a built in filter to rinse the car with, i would suggest trying that out.

A cloth damp with vinegar should take out the crust.

Well I tried two car washes (from a place nearby that uses soft water), polishing, waxing with a buffer, and vinegar on the windows. Nothing worked. In fact, the only place that did clear off the watermarks is where a bird took a massive crap on it. The paint is not new, straight from 2000.

Yea I moved from NJ to CA and I never thought hard water could be this much of a problem. I'm keeping my car covered for now until I get it professionally detailed in like 3 weeks. I have a low-powered buffer so let the guys at a auto cleaner take car of it, plus if they screw up it's their head. Is the vinegar safe on the paint???

I would try the claybar with a mixture of a good car soap and soft water (distilled if you have it). Also, we have hard water too, so I picked up a garden hose filter that works great. The good thing is the filter can be refreshed by soaking in salt. pwgazette.com/gardenhosefilters.htm
