Chrome WS6 Wheels
I have a 2002 TA WS6 without chrome wheels. I was looking into getting chrome WS6 wheels but they are too expensive. I have heard of places that will dip your wheels in chrome and it is a lot cheaper. Does anyone have any thoughts on the dipped wheels and where I can get it done???

Chroming a wheel is an electroplating process, not a "dip". Chrome itself is invisible: it's put on to protect the nickel layer underneath which is the actual shiny material. There are places that will rechrome wheels, but I was told by two different rechromers that they can't do certain GM wheels because the wheels are made of two different types of metals. The center section and rim are made separately, chromed, then welded together to make the final wheel. I have a T/A with chrome peeling from the wheels, especially on the inside. I ended up buying wheels from a junkyard to replace the ones that were peeling. I'm going to change to chromed Z06 wheels eventually, about $210 / wheel, new. Getting wheels chromed will cost you at minimum 2/3 the price of a new chrome wheel if you want show quality chrome. It's not really cost effective to get chroming done unless it's for a part that can't be replaced. To find rechromers do a Google for "Electroplating" or go to a motorcycle shop and ask, especially a shop that deals in Harley parts.
