Car cover

I'm looking for a relatively cheap car cover (< $50-60) for my T/A to hold me over for a few weeks/ months until I can get a garage at my apartment. I need something water proof and durable. I dont care if its a generic type, i.e. not necessarily cutom fitted for a trans am. any suggestions/ experience?

(mods feel free to move this to showcar/detailing threads if its more appropriate there)

This is just my opinion, but you would probably be better off protecting the car by polishing/sealing it and letting it be exposed to the elements outside for that short of time than to put a cheap car cover on it....

well i'll be driving it 3-4 times a week. I just wanted something to keep it out of the rain, bird shit, etc. when I'm driving my jeep. I'm hoping I can get a garage soon, but I'd be content with a cover for a while. Atleast up until the harsher winter months..

I guess I would just search the classified ads and perhaps Ebay then...

I paid around $250 for my cover from a car cover company in California and it wasn't really the best they had.

yeah i dont really wanna spend that kind of money on one. hmmmm, what to do what to do. I'll start lookin around and see what i can find. thanks for the advice

I got mine from advanced auto parts, it was ~$75. Waterproof and lifetime warranty, works great. It has been through storms and comes off without a water mark on the car. I would suggest getting the size larger that they recommend for the Firebird, our cars are alittle longer than they think. I also use addition tarp anchors to strap down the front and back.

I would also make sure you have the car sealed/waxed properly and would never put it on with the car dirty.
