can someone explain how to do a whisler mod

wanted to paint my headlights black around the edges but i dont wanna just jump into it and not do it right. what kinda paint is best? do i need to sand or prime? and how do i open and reseal the cover?

I used a regular gloss spray paint, though i'm sure a high temp wouldn't hurt. Stick them in the oven at 225 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the lens will peel off the light housing. A screwdriver works nicely but don't be to forceful because the housing will flake away if you try to go primal on it(Don't forget to take off the metal clips w/ a screwdriver before you separate them). Get some painters tape and block off the area you want to keep reflective no need to sand or any of that. When you go to seal them back up use a clear drying epoxy or silicone and fill thew groove where it fits, after you press it together and let it dry take the metal clips back off and go over the seam again this will ensure moisture does not get in. You may put aluminum foil on the oven rack I did just for safety and it will stink a little but nothing is going to melt, it's easy good luck.

never knew that was why it was called that, learn somethin new everyday i guess. i love the look of it, gonna do mine soon too.

this is so weird...i was just looking for a write up this morning.

Ok so on the picture early, he said those two were full whistler, and his were only partial....i cant tell a difference.

mine only goes over the vertical portion of the lights the full whistler goes on to the horizontal part with the ridges-look closer.
