Paint them black using high temp, 500 or higher. You can paint them on the car or off, doesn't matter, but you will get much better results if you remove them. The key is proper prep. You want to use a high temp clear coat to finish it off with as well.

Polished looks great as well, I don't know if it would look as good as the black+anthracite wheels though. You are always safe with black.

You might take some steel wool to the center part of the rotor and see if that fixes the rust.

Brake cleaner first, then use soap and water with a brush and scrub them down. This should have all the dirt/dust off them. If you want a smoother look to them, you can sand them down as well.

You can always get the duplicolor brush on kit in black. I have used it and looks great. Very easy to use.

If it were my car I would polish them. Every time I walk up to my car I cant help but stare at how nice they look. They were painted before and that was no way near as nice. My .02

Sorry about the bad pic, but I haven't washed the car in awhile. I really hated the rust on my rotors, so I bought some of the high heat caliper paint in silver and red, and did both the rotors and calipers. This pic was just taken and has been painted for about 7K miles.

Yeah, and it's a nice touch up. I was going to do black, but decided on silver high temp. Since the caliper never touches that spot it should last a long time and keep it looking rust free.

The rotors were definitely easier than the calipers, since I left the calipers on and took the rotors off. Sand them down, get some blue painters tape and newspaper to mask off all of the area's where the caliper touches and spray away. did about four coats of that silver. Had a little overspray, but that came right off as soon as I drove the car.
