    Exclamation Body Lines off horribly..

As you can see in this picuture my rear bumper looks a little low... its all tight and firm but the gap is quite annoying.. ive looked at many pics at it seems like the gap is different on most cars.. any ideas?

Its all tight and all together.. i was just underneath it. I even tried pushing it up and it didnt move an inch..it seems like the top end of the panel(where the pontiac logo is) is bowing out.. I wonder is this a TSB...

maybe it was in a wreck, and not fixed correctly?
either way, the bumper will have to come off to fix it so that is a good place to start. take it off and see whats goin on under there - just cuz it is tight, doesn't mean it is installed correctly

if the bumper is on ok, then i would try to lossen your tailights up and then move them to see if the gap is any better,...looks as if you have a modified filler panel in there between your tail lights so maybe when they were put back on the lights werent exactly centered and thts whats making your lines off......

The top of the bumper (above the "Pontiac") has 4 plastic push pins (really cheap to buy new ones at a local autozone). Just remove the tail lights, and make sure the top of the bumper is even pulled over the "lip" and even if there are the plastic pins as that is what i'm guessing is missing and wrong. Hopefully that helps, let us know what happens.

It's not to bad, it should take you take you no more than a couple minutes to pull back the carpet, remove tail lights and see if the bumper is pulled over the lip and has the pins in. Hopefully it is just something as simple as the previous owner didn't install it correctly.

All good to go... looks like factory 98 dust to me...no signs of being rigged... it might have been done right along time ago..

    now where else to begin

Tailights and bumper are aligned perfectly.. minus the inch gap..

Maybe rubber shims can be installed???

I need lots of body work done... (ie.. new front bumper due to spidercracks, hood was painted crappy... and a door ding..)

    Next years tax money?? lol

BTW its a 150xxx hard driven daily driver...

It might be worth it to just the bumper off completely to really see whats up instead of placing some plastic shims (which is an ok route I guess) if I were you. Not to hard to remove the bumper.

Weird. I have a rear bumper reinforcement if you looking to replace it now.
