Anybody ever see any flat black 4th gens?
Im considering painting my car flat black, and doing flat black/gunmetal rims.
Ive had a black on black vehicle before, but it wasnt flat black. im going for that UAV look. Im just concerned about how it will look on it (2000 ss camaro).
Anybody have pictures?

I would have to pass on the idea of a flat black... I could just throw a bunch of dirt on gloss black.

I think it could look cool, almost like a rat-rod style. But the car would have to be SLAMMED and the wheels would have to be HUGE to pull off the look. Otherwise it would just look like a backyard spray-bomb job.
here is a similar concept on a 1st gen work in progress.

^^^ you got it. Love that style, But im still concerned on how it would look on a fbody, it wouldnt look like primer, more just like non glossy black, still clean perfect body and what not.
And i do plan on lowering (eibach prokit), no big rims though, i plan to stick with 17's maybe 18s tops. But i will go with a lower profile tire.
I was looking at vehicles like that on the net and it looks like they are calling that style "murdered out" . lol

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
i don't think the 4th gen camaros looked good in satin at all. But that 1st gen looks EVIL!
I remember once, morning due had settled on the phoenix and it made it look flat black, but the rims were bright and shiny still-for the rest of the day i considered going home and sanding off the clearcoat!

I think Satin would be okay if you went with dark everything else. I think the stock lights/wheels and everything look too "bright" against the flat color. And as long as you make sure it can't be mistaken for primer.

Wow, when I saw the first post I was like "NO WAY" but after all these pictures I've had a change of heart. That looks pretty cool! I wouldn't do it to my car, but I would definitely stare at one done right (in a good way). Pretty cool!

I saw a protype new challenger last year at the Mile high nationals painted flat black. It also had some gloss black stipes in it. Looked absolutely awesome.
I really like the look myself on the 4th gens. Put some TT2's on there and Slam it, that would be sweet. Also a Cowl hood if you have a Z-28.Last edited by Jays00ss; 03-06-2008 at 02:02 PM.
