couldn't you just wetsand and polish the ones already on the car and save 30 bucks?

if you wanted to, sure. how often would you have to do it versus just buying a pair already done that doesn't tarnish?

saved myself $30, and polished the air lid clips myself. still needs refining. my dremel battery died.

after
you can send me yours, and i'll do it for five bucks plus shipping.

you did a good job on yours. some of us prefer not to ever do them at all. which is what happens when you buy these. they don't tarnish. personally, i have better things to do than spend 10 - 30 minutes each month doing them. i'm lazy and value my time. either way, it adds up. cost of polish and your time doing it over the course of however long vs just buying a set already done for you and not having to bother with them again.
it's all a matter of how much you value your time. people buy things to their likings. no need to demean them about it. i can polish mine as well. but why?

i'm not demeaning anyone. it's a great idea. but, not for 30 bucks. i'll update you in a month, and see how much tarnish i have on them. cause unless those other ones are clear coated or anodized they'll probably tarnish too. it's kinda like buying big chrome wheels, then never washing them.

why is $30.00 too much? what's the cost on a pair of airlid clips from the dealer? then shipping to mikronite and back for the processing. taking the clips apart and reassembling them to be processed? now granted, they can pack the clips into a box with other parts going to mikronite, but it still costs to ship.
the mikronite process isn't a polish. it's a treatment. http://mikronite.com/flashRoot.asp here's some reading on it.

I polished mine myself, only needed repolishing every couple of months, you can do alot with a bench grinder and a buffing wheel.
-

sure can. i have an air grinder that i have a buffing wheel for. for my aluminum stuff. just that polishing gets old after a couple of years. imagine 3 hours per wheel. then again, i take the wheels off, clean and polish the backsides as well on my american racing wheels i had. you can see right through the spokes to the rear.

I know what you're saying on the wheels, that is why I have always gone with chrome,as far as big stuff goes the aftermarket route is the best,I just prefer to do the little stuff myself.
