Again with the Black Chrome idea!
So while watching PowerBlock the other day I saw this Duplicolor Black Chrome Paint. Long story short my wheels have bored the hell out of me already and I think this would be a cheap alternative till I can buy new wheels again. What do you guys think? Anybody tried it before?
How the car looks now:

Don't touch them. They look awesome in chrome.

I think black chrome would look awesome on your car. But I wouldn't do it myself. I'd have it professionally done by someone with experience re-chroming wheels. My local powdercoater is able to do it and the end result is amazing.

I don't like it. I would never take a rattle can to chrome either. I have nothing against black chrome though. On the right setup it can look awesome.
I'm sick of my wheels too. But, there always seems to be something that comes up that just doesn't justify the expense for new wheels around here They are a want and not a need. Right now, I NEED tires and I won't skimp on those to save a few bucks.

Black/ Silver- 98 TA WS6/ 01 C5 Corvette
I like that a lot I am actually thinking of doing that as well when I replace my current wheels, except with machined or chrome lip (maybe). I would get it professionally done though.

Black wheels are starting to look like shit to me.
Everyone goes thru that cycle when they get bored with their current set.
The cure?, grab a girl who likes your current set and go have some fun with her.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I'd leave them alone. The photoshop pic makes the tires look smaller than they are.

They aren't ugly. They just look worse than the chrome wheels imo, that's why I wrote uglier.
Have you looked into seeing what black chrome would cost? Just curious. I've seen it before and I liked that. I don't think you'll be happy with painted chrome rims at all. If you go forward with it, are you going to do other black accents to the car also?Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

I haven't looked into it, I just read a bit on it and found out that it can actually be powdercoated. Back home I have a guy that could do them for $120ish and does great work, wished I would've done it before I left. The car already has black accents, I would probably only VHT the sidemarkers.

I like them....but only do it professionally. Find something else to change, your wheels look awesome in person.

If you do it professonaly see what kind of maintence there is for the up keep. It not just wiping them down. I believe there is an oil you have to rub on it to keep it from turning colors. I wanted to do my bike that way frame and wheels and that what the company told me.
